Policies & Procedures
Policies & Procedures for Private Instruction and Training
1. Nurturing Environment
NeuroSphere Academy (NSA) provides a supportive and stimulating setting where individuals feel safe to explore their neurological abilities. NSA's environment is designed to foster innate curiosity, encourage risk-taking in learning and in performance. NSA promotes self-confidence through engagement and competence.
2. Wellness Policy
NSA prioritizes the health of all participants. Individuals showing signs of illness should stay home. If a child becomes ill during a session, parents will be contacted for immediate pick-up.
3. Behavioral Expectations and Discipline Practices
NSA uses relationship-based limit-setting methods, employing the "connect and redirect" approach. Instructors first connect emotionally with the children, then when they can process what the instructor has to say, the instructor guides them towards appropriate behavior, maintaining a consistent, firm, and warm approach.
4. Behavioral Concerns Policy
If a child's behavior interferes with child's learning, NSA will work with parents to address the issue. Persistent problems may result in suspension from the program. Such decisions are at the sole discretion of the Director, Dr. Swanson.
5. Adult Relational Respect Policy
NSA expects all adults, including parents and staff, to model respectful behavior. Disrespectful or inappropriate behavior from adults may result in a child's suspension or expulsion from the program at the sole discretion of the Director, Dr. Swanson.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
NSA has a firm no-cancellation, no-transfer, and no-refund policy. There are no refunds, transfers for missed private sessions due to illness, accident, suspension, or any other foreseen or unforeseen event in the individual's life. You may reschedule a session with 24 hours notice.
10. Snacks and Dietary Considerations
NSA provides snacks and water. Please ensure that upi or your children have a balanced snack or meal before arriving. If a child has dietary restrictions or allergies, parents are expected to provide those session snacks for your children.
11. Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Timely arrival is crucial. Your session ends sharply at 50 minutes after the hour regardless of your time of arrival
12. Parent Availability During Session Hours
We request that parents remain in town with their phones on during session hours. In case of illness or behavioral issues, you may be asked to pick up your child within 10 minutes.
13. Activity Structure and Breaks
NSA's private sessions include 20-minute increments of focused face-to-face instruction and training bookended by NeuroSensoriMotor breaks. All instructors are supervised by Dr. Swanson and review each individual's progress together on a regular basis.
